Set in a tranquil, leafy corner of Pinelands, the Society is wrapped in beautifully kept, water-wise gardens alive with birdlife, with quiet courtyards and private garden spots to enjoy. Cottages are pet-friendly with management approval, so a much-loved companion can settle in too.
You are looked after around the clock: 24-hour security and access control, and bright-yellow rails throughout the grounds that are easy to spot and steady to lean on. Add a full, resident-led social calendar and it becomes a genuinely warm, sociable place to live.

Independent living in cottages
Comfortable, fully independent cottages set within the gardens, with 24-hour security, convenient parking, and emergency nursing care on hand when or if required. You furnish your own home, and everything around it is taken care of.

Open viewing day: we welcome the general public to view on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m., excluding public holidays and December.
What’s in your cottage

Good to know
You bring your own furniture and curtains to make the cottage truly yours. Air-conditioning may be installed at your own cost. For everyone’s safety, open-flame heaters are not permitted.
Meals: a three-course lunch is served every day in the dining hall and is included in your monthly tariff. Suppers are available for a small extra charge.

Assisted living in the Home, including the Askew Suites
Assisted living provides accommodation and day-to-day support for older people who can still live largely independently, but who need some assistance with personal care, daily activities or medication.
You’ll enjoy a comfortable room, with en-suite options, full board and a helping hand whenever required, all covered by one convenient monthly all-inclusive fee.
Assisted living also offers a premium option, with selected en-suite accommodation available on a Refundable Life Care Contract basis.

Like every resident, you also share in the estate’s activities and outings, the daily clinic hour in assisted living, and visiting hairdresser and podiatrist. Cottage residents who need to convalesce after an illness can be cared for here temporarily too, subject to availability.
Full frail care nursing in our Care Centre
Our registered Care Centre provides person-centred, full-time frail care in a safe and supportive environment, with professional nurses on site 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Residents receive

Primarily a rental
Our accommodation is offered primarily on a rental basis. From time to time, selected cottages and selected assisted-living en-suite rooms may also be offered on a Refundable Life Care Contract. This is not standard and does not apply to every cottage or room.
Fair, predictable costs
Reasonable NPO tariffs, adjusted for inflation each April so there are no surprises. Residents of five years or more qualify for special long-term discounts.
Refundable life care
Where life care is available, it stays with you as your needs change, from a cottage through to assisted living and frail care. It is fully refundable: you may withdraw at any time and are refunded the full consideration, less the agreed deductions.

Who is eligible to apply?
We welcome applications from retirees from the age of 60, whatever your visual ability. You do not need to be visually impaired to make your home here.
What accommodation and levels of care do you offer?
We are a one-stop retirement estate with three levels of care on one campus: independent living in private cottages, assisted living in the Home, including the Askew Suites, and full nursing in our registered Care Centre. Residents can move between levels as their needs change, so you settle in once and never have to start over.
Do you provide meals?
Yes. In the independent cottages, a three-course lunch is served every day in the dining hall and is included in the monthly tariff. Suppers are available for a small extra charge.
Residents in assisted living and full nursing care receive full board, three meals plus tea-time snacks every day, included in their monthly all-inclusive fee.
How do fees work, and what is included?
For the independent cottages, the monthly tariff covers municipal charges, water and refuse, central garden and cleaning services, use of the facilities, one three-course meal a day, three hours of weekly domestic help (half an hour per day), building insurance, public lighting, administration, and structural and external maintenance. Electricity units, extra domestic help, extra meals, transport, medical and nursing care, and telephone charges are for your own account.
Assisted living and full nursing care are charged as one monthly all-inclusive fee covering full board (three meals and snacks daily), housekeeping and laundry, and day-to-day nursing care.

What happens if I become ill?
Cottage residents can be moved temporarily to the Home or Care Centre to convalesce, subject to availability. If there is no space, temporary care can be arranged in your cottage at your own cost. A nurse is on call 24 hours a day for emergencies, and a daily clinic hour is hosted in assisted living (weekdays only) should you wish to see a nurse.
Our registered Care Centre provides full-time frail care with professional nurses on site 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
Are the buildings suitable for frail or visually impaired residents?
Yes. Bathrooms and en-suites are adapted for blind, sight-impaired and frail residents, with level-floor showers and fold-down seats. Bright-yellow rails run throughout the grounds, easy to see and steady to hold, alongside 24-hour security, access control, electric fencing and panic buttons.
Are pets allowed?
In special circumstances, with management approval, a small pet may be allowed in the independent living cottages.
Can I keep going to my own church?
Absolutely. We are a Christian organisation with regular church services on site, and residents are free to keep their own church, with the nearby Pinelands churches all easily reached.
Can I come and see the estate?
Yes. We welcome the public to view on the third Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. (excluding public holidays and December).
